Hello, and welcome!
I’m Christine Hegedus, M.A, Registered Clinical Counsellor (#22448) based in beautiful British Columbia. As a therapist, my goal is to help you better understand yourself and your experiences, so that you can move forward in a more conscious, regulated and intentional way.
Beyond self-awareness, I believe the purpose of therapy is to transform the negative emotional patterns and beliefs that have been influencing your thoughts, behaviours and relationships.
My style is warm, non-judgemental and sincere, and I am not afraid to gently challenge my clients. I am experienced in working with folks who have experienced complex, relational trauma and struggle with emotional challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship problems and substance abuse.
Of particular interest to me is working with neurodivergent folks, especially those who received an autism or ADHD diagnosis later in life. I was diagnosed with autism in my thirties and am passionate about supporting those who have gone through similar experiences.
Our work together will draw from emotion-focused, cognitive and somatic modalities, integrated through a trauma-informed and attachment-based lens. I aim to empower clients with knowledge about their mind-body system and am passionate about providing clients with psychoeducation support throughout the therapeutic process.
“Through awareness and compassion, healing becomes transformation—the space where you learn to meet yourself with understanding and move toward the life you want.”
— Christine Hegedus, Clinical Counsellor
